Hull ID# translation

Postby JavelinMan » Mon Jul 05, 2010 7:45 pm

How does one interpret the hull ID# impressed on the transom? I would like to figure out the year, model & sail number of what I believe to be a DS II.

Thanks,
a Javelin Man

My HIN is XDY D 6408 0173, and my understanding of the interpretation is...

XDY = Manufacturer = "O'Day"
D = Model = "Daysailer"
6408= Class #
01 = Month in manufacturing year "August" is "01"
73 = Year "1973"

Then check your number against this list to see if it makes sense...
