Will 6" inspection ports fit in cuddy below gunwales?

Postby JGREGORY@PARKER.COM » Sat Jun 05, 2010 10:47 pm

I ordered a couple of 6" ports to put in the cuddy below the gunwales/seats facing aft. Of course after receiving them.. I found that thiey might not clear the back of the seat, and that the aft cuddy wall is not real flat near the cuddy floor.

Have any of you installed 6" ports there, or should I send them back to get 4" ports instead?

Thanks,
John Gregory

If mounting surface isn’t flat and you cannot do a little sanding or grinding to make it so you should go with the next size smaller port. I know different manufacturers made these boats over a period of time so there are inconsistencies from one to another. Some may be able to mount the 6" port without any problems. Brad

I think I would have to build up the glass quite a bit in the corner. I think my best bet is to go with a smaller port.
